CHANGES AND DEVELOPMENTS

This post covers any changes and developments made to the original ideas and plans.

Symbolism -

I decided that I wanted the character and image of the rabbit to play a more dominant and darker role. Due to the fact that throughout the film, Rosie switches between herself and the rabbit character, the audience assumes that the rabbit's an effigy for Rosie. It comes across as threatening, intimidating and demonic which could represent how Rosie has played a dark role in pressuring Anna into taking drugs. I felt as if in the original idea, this theme could have been developed more. Also the nods to films like Alice in Wonderland and Donnie Darko have been exaggerated. So, now, the rabbit/Rosie has a larger role and when it appears in the scene, tells Anna to take another pill which will 'help' her, much like how Alice keeps taking potions in AiW and Franks connection to Donnie's consumption of medication in Donnie Darko. Where as the rabbit is telling Anna to take the pills, Rosie is pleading her not to, however she is less powerful than the rabbit persona so is overpowered. The element of trust is still evident as it is Anna who never listens to Rosie's advice and it is Rosie who appears to be trying to help Anna.
