FEEDBACK ON RUN, RABBIT, RUN

I liked it, it had that sense of mystery that keeps you engaged and wanting to watch more, plus unlike other short films it didn't carry with it any blatant unprofessionalism, i could tell from watching it you had a clear vision and through the way you shot it, use of audio such as subtitles and that, you were able to create something with meaning, and because it seemed to focus a lot on imagery i imagine finding that meaning would take a couple viewings, and with something as abstract as this it would be easy to watch several times and come away each time with a different view of it, personally i thought it was a commentary on drug use but i may be completely off the beating path, either way i think what you've made has a layer of polish and personal touch that makes it worth being proud of.

I liked the use of light and shadow in the introductory shots to create mystery and suspense. When paired with the slowed down titular song 'run, rabbit run' it is effective in creating an eerie, foreboding tone. The removal of voice to the characters is key to supporting the removal of identity established by the quick flashes between a dual persona (the rabbit vs. the girl). The use of shaky cam, disjointed music and shifting focus during the drug induced state successfully created a realistic hypnotic state for both the character and audience. The shift to a POV shot, I thought, was important to show that we, as an audience, become an active participant in immoral actions if we chose to do nothing and was very strong. Overall, I really enjoyed it and found it interesting through a use of fragmented shots and emotion to disconnect the audience from reality.

I interpreted it as someone having an episode and their deteriorating mental health is represented by the rabbits. The subject of the video feels the only way to solve this is through the drugs. Although they're reluctant to take anything, their anxieties take over. One thing I would say is that the subtitles aren't needed and I think it would work a lot better without.
